Solid oak windows meeting the thermal specification for student accommodation in Cambridge.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The new student accommodation at Churchill College required solid oak windows with specified thermal performance. We coordinated the manufacture, supply and installation of over 150 windows.
Student-room windows used triple-glazed solar-control glass to meet a passive-house specification, with overall U-values below 0.8 W/m²K. Double-glazed courtyard windows achieved 1.2 W/m²K.
Installation took three months and the contract value was over £425k. The project was featured in Cambridge Architecture Magazine and received a Highly Commended recognition at the Wood Awards.
